Install Skills in Claude Desktop
Follow this simple guide to add AI skills to Claude Desktop
Before You Start
You'll need Claude Desktop installed on your computer.
Don't have it yet? Download Claude Desktop
Find a Skill You Want
Browse our marketplace and click on any skill to view its details.
Example: On any skill page, you'll see a download button:
Click to download the skill package
Download the Skill Package
Click the "Download Skill ZIP" button on the skill page. The skill package will download to your computer.

Saved to your Downloads folder
Extract the ZIP File
Locate the downloaded ZIP file in your Downloads folder and extract it.
Windows: Right-click the ZIP file and select "Extract All"
Mac: Double-click the ZIP file to extract automatically
Install in Claude Desktop
Move the extracted skill folder to your Claude skills directory:

~/.claude/skills/ Steps:
- Open your file explorer/finder
- Navigate to your home directory
- Find the
.claude/skills/folder (create it if it doesn't exist) - Move the extracted skill folder into the
skills/directory
Restart Claude Desktop
Restart Claude Desktop for the skill to take effect.
Claude Desktop now has new capabilities. Try asking Claude about the topic the skill covers!
Pro Tips
- You can install multiple skills - each goes in its own folder inside
~/.claude/skills/ - To update a skill, download the latest version and replace the old folder
- To remove a skill, simply delete its folder from
~/.claude/skills/and restart Claude Desktop - Higher-rated skills (green scores) are more reliable and well-maintained
